By nine votes to two, the Araucária City Council accepted the complaint to open a process that could lead to the removal of councilor Gilmar Lisboa (PT), accused of sexual harassment and rape of a vulnerable person. The vote took place this Tuesday (10).

Lisboa is accused of the offenses in cases that are proceeding under seal, and now, in addition to the criminal sphere, he will also be investigated by the Processing Commission established in the Council, which will determine whether there was a breach of the House’s internal rules.

The councilor was expelled from the PT after the party learned of the serious accusations, which have been under investigation since 2019.

Regarding his expulsion from the party, the councilor stated, via social media, that “It is necessary to say that the disclosed criminal case is still in the processing phase, involves family matters, and is under seal by court decision. I personally did not have the opportunity to be heard or to clarify the unfair charges leveled against me, all based on mere allegations that lack evidence, as I have been patiently refuting.”
